David Marquet

David came to world-wide prominence after the publication of his wonderful book on leadership ’Turn the Ship Around’. It described how, as Commander of the USS Santa Fe, a nuclear submarine, he turned it from being the worst performing vessel in the US Navy to the best. David’s approach to leadership was then demonstrated further in his second book “Leadership is Language’. This illustrates the importance of getting the most out of people by asking them questions and learning from them. David has developed programmes on ‘Intent-based learning, and he is one of the most sought after consultants and presenters on leadership in the world. His next book Distancing: how leaders reframe to make great decisions, is out in August 2025.
