FOUNDATION FOR LEADERSHIP THROUGH SPORT
The Foundation for Leadership through Sport is a charity that creates leadership development opportunities in, of, and through sport. We connect leaders from sport, business, and military backgrounds to share knowledge from different spheres of interest and across generations.
FLS Directors have vast experience in these different environments, and their wisdom is valued highly by those at the infancy of their careers and who are considering leadership life within and beyond sport.
As a charity, we provide free programming wherever possible, supported by world-class contributors and presenters who typically have not charged for their services.
With an ambition to extend our reach and create an enduring and wider impact, we need to source funds that will allow us to provide learning and growth opportunities to as diverse a group of beneficiaries as we can. To achieve this we need at least £25k per annum to meet our expenses.
The aim is to organise a minimum of 3 workshops each year and an annual conference. We will also develop our work with schools and Universities to inspire ‘Future Leaders’.
We have managed our activities to date largely because of one man, Nigel Wray, who from the start made a significant financial contribution annually. After ten years, Nigel has completed his agreed period of support and we now seek to fund the charity slightly differently.
We aim to attract support as follows:
GOLD PATRON
One patron/group/company- £10.0k per annum for two years.
SILVER PATRON
Six x Silver patron/group/company- £2.5k per annum each for two years.
BRONZE PATRON
Twenty x Bronze patron/group/company - £1.0k each for two years

SILVER PATRONS
Mike Littlewood
Joe Samuels
I recently approached three former Bristol students who I had coached in the University rugby team, and immediately, all three offered to come in at the silver level of patronage. What a wonderful start! Thanks to Mike Littlewood, Joe Samuels and Martin Taylor for giving this initiative such a quick start. All three of them are experienced leaders and mentors in their own fields.
Martin Taylor
Richard Hytner
Richard Hytner, FLS Director, and among many other things, author of the wonderful book on leadership ‘Consiglieri’, has also offered to come in as a Silver patron. Thanks to the four of you for your wonderful support.
