RICHARD HYTNER
Richard Hytner, Blue Hat Man and Adjunct Professor of Marketing, London Business School
Facilitator, educator and coach, Richard’s purpose is to help leaders land their best ideas.
He is former Deputy Chair, Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide, where he led its global strategy and innovation practice, helping clients earn loyalty beyond reason among their customers and people.
His book, Consiglieri: Leading from the Shadows (Profile Books) drew on that experience as a Deputy. It shines a light on the joy, craft and different contributions one can make in support of the ultimately accountable leader, helping to enhance the relationships that exist between top team leaders.
He has worked with leaders in many different worlds and across the world. From academia to accountancy, law to luxury goods, medical equipment to the military, publishing to engineering, and from dairy farming to financial services and football coaching.
At London Business School, where he is Adjunct Professor of Marketing, Richard teaches on the flagship Senior Executive Programme.
Richard has a passion for football. A lifelong supporter and season ticket holder at Old Trafford (until he gifted it to his United-besotted nephew), he co-founded with fellow Mancunian and broadcaster Michael Crick Shareholders United Against Murdoch and remains honorary President of what that organisation became over time, the Manchester United Supporters Trust.
He has facilitated extensive strategy programmes for Premier League Productions; been engaged by the education departments of both the FA (for UEFA PRO Level 5 and Tech Directors) and the Premier League, appearing on its Elite Heads of Coaching programme. He has also worked with regulators, trainers, owners and educators across the British Horseracing industry; and most recently with HEROS which retrains and rehomes retired racehorses and provides inspirational education to young people.
